I learn so much about flowers from reading your fics in this 'verse... and that meaning seems so appropriate for lilacs, which bloom early and spectacularly and don't last long enough. Lilacs are one of the best-smelling flowers ever, too.
Thank you for sharing!

XD Thank you. Oh, I didn't know that about lilacs! That is quite fitting! I wish we have that flower around here; they look gorgeous.
(Lilac plants are very hardy though...and depending on the color, mean lots of things.)

Lilacs are indeed hardy and so resilient... and they love a good freeze. We even cut some in New York years ago and grew the cuttings here in Indiana.
My parents' yard has about seven lilac bushes, in four colors (lavender, deep purple, pink and white). For a week in April their yard smells amazing and the neighbors converge on the yard with clippers, cutting flowers to take home. :)

Ahhh! I am envious. It must be quite a sight to see all those blooms. XD

I actually found it through the lovely fanart you posted a while ago. Thanks so much for that one too!
This is one of the stories that I always go back to, when I feel in need of beautiful complex feelings. All the series is so well-written and interesting, and whenever I arrive to the "letting go" chapter, my heart feels so tiny in my chest. It's bittersweet but lovely.
Thus I am so looking forward to more chapters! Is the end really close? *prays no no no* I'd love to read more and more of your storytelling. Your attention to details is great!
I loved all the confusion of teenage!America in this one, and the backpedaling England had to do there, after the kiss. Judging by his reaction, only receiving the flowers seemed surprising but pleasant to him, it was the kiss what jolted him into slight panic.
Thanks so much for sharing!! <3<3<3

I still have a few stories about them, like this one time America tries to apply floriography, but fails miserably and ended sending the wrong message. XD
He he, I do love confused America. England knows what the lilacs meant, but figured America didn't know what they mean so he wasn't that concerned. But when he got kissed that sent him panicking and backpedaling.
