Summary: Teddy Lupin knew it wasn't quite the same, that they were different types, but the man sitting across from him was the only chance Teddy would have to understanding the darker part of his father.
Teddy Lupin knew it wasn't quite the same, that they were different types, but the man sitting across from him was the only chance Teddy would have to understanding the darker part of his father. Unsurprisingly, werewolves in the wizarding world were a little reluctant to talk to anyone about what it was like to be a werewolf. For most, it was a deep, dark secret that they never spoke of, and those who did admit their condition were deeply ashamed of it.
Teddy didn't like that one bit. He didn't like the thought that his father was ashamed of a part of himself. His father was a hero, he had risked his life fighting Voldemort over and over again. How could he be anything but proud?
Luckily, muggle werewolves didn't have the same problem. Well, some of them didn't. It had taken Teddy two years, and the help of one of the muggleborns in his year, to track down a muggle werewolf who was willing to talk. Actually, he was more than willing to talk. When Teddy had explained that his deceased father was a werewolf and that he had some questions, well, the werewolf, Oz, had offered to come to him.
Teddy had been so grateful he had almost cried. He had to understand, and he didn't care that his godfather and grandmother were going to skin him alive when they found out he was meeting a strange werewolf in muggle London. If they found out. There was still a chance that Victorie would be able to cover for him enough so that no one would notice him missing.
"So, your dad was a werewolf," Oz began. "Cool."
Teddy was a little confused by the comment, not sure what the temperature had to do with werewolves.
"What did you want to know?"
The question caused Teddy to pause, because he wanted to know everything. He wanted to know what it was like to have a wolf share your body. He wanted to know why Oz looked so healthy, when every other werewolf Teddy had seen looked like they were really sick. He wanted to know why Oz was so calm, even though the full moon was only a few days away. He wanted to know why there were different types of werewolves, and what did it meant.
"I want to know everything."
