First of all, thanks so much for the lovely words about my fic. I'm glad you enjoyed. :)

Second of all, mood themes can be applied by users who have paid accounts. For full instructions on how to apply mood themes, see this page of the FAQ. My mood theme was made by me, and it's really a tiny collection of photos. If you can't find another mood theme in LJ (and believe, there are tons are great ones! Poke around people's userinfo for links to mood themes) I'd be glad to send you the pics I use for mine.
