Layout contest 03 - St. Rudolph

Aug 22, 2009 23:41

There are four divisions this time around. You may submit for up to two divisions if you wish~ (however, you'll still only receive one event card). Even if you're not all that great with graphics or coding, there may be something here for you too!

Division 1: New website layout
Your task here is to make a new website layout for our website following the requirements below.

Requirements:
- the layout must use a stylesheet
- you must code parts of the styesheet (h1 and h2 must be defined, etc.). I used very weird coding for the entire website, so you'll have to stick to this coding. You can view the current stylesheet here. I used #top, #mainwrapper, #menutext, #maintext, and #bottomwrapper.
- the layout must be IE and firefox compatible.
- the layout must have a menu. If it's a fancy menu, you'll have to help me out with it. ;)
- if you are doing a non scrolling layout, the layout must be small enough so that people with small monitors won't have to scroll up and down.
- Please stick close to our current width so that decks display correctly.
- the layout must use St. Rudolph colors. (We'll be going through the schools~).
- Twist Serve TCG and the subtitle "A Prince of Tennis online trading card game" must be somewhere in the layout.
- Send a screenshot of the layout and the images and stylesheets necessary for the layout in a zip to rykatu[at]yahoo[dot]com. If you have a working example, even better!

Please define your tables with this code and tweak the style to fit your layout:

table#twist {
border-collapse: collapse;
background-color:#d3d3d3;
color: #000000;
width: 500px;

}

table#twist td {
padding: 2px 0px 2px 2px;
border-bottom: solid #ff0000 1px;

}

.toprow {
font-weight: bold;
font-style: italic;
border-bottom: solid #ff0000 2px;
background-color: #d3d3d3;
color: #FFFFFF;

}

Your rewards for participating:
- 1 layout event card
- 1 copy of your student ID
- 2 item02
- 6 random cards

Your rewards for your layout getting chosen:
- all the above
- your choice of the next two decks to be released
- one puzzle deck suggestion

Division 2: New community banner
Your task for this division is to make a new community banner that is 800x200px. The banner must be St. Rudolph themed. The banner must have the words Twist Serve TCG and the subtitle "A Prince of Tennis online trading card game" on it somewhere. Your task is just to make a banner, so you don't need to code an LJ layout for the community. Send in your finished banner to rykatu[at]yahoo[dot]com~

Your rewards for participating:
- 1 layout event card
- 1 item02
- 5 random cards

Your rewards for your banner getting chosen:
- all of the above
- your choice of one deck to be released
- one puzzle deck suggestion

Division 3: New community icons
Your task for this division is to make new community icons for both the main community and the trading community. All participants will have their icons displayed in one post where members are free to take some to advertise the community if they wish. The main icon picked for the community will not be available for general taking. You may submit between 5 and 10 icons. That means, please submit more than 5 icons and less than 10 icons. Only St. Rudolph themed icons will be considered for the main community, but you may also make non St. Rudolph related icons. Send in your finished icons to rykatu[at]yahoo[dot]com!

Your rewards for participating:
- 1 layout event card
- 1 item02
- 2 random cards for 5 icons, 1 extra random card for every icon after that

Your rewards for your icons getting chosen for the main community:
- all of the above
- your choice of one deck to be released
- one puzzle deck suggestion

Division 4: New blurb about Twist Serve
Your task in this division is to write a short blurb about Twist Serve...using St. Rudolph characters. The blurb will be displayed on the community profile. Think of it as a welcome message. You can be as creative as you want with it. The limit, however, is 200 words! Send in your finished blurb to rykatu[at]yahoo.com.

Your rewards for participating:
- 1 layout event card
- 1 item02
- 5 random cards

Your rewards for your blurb getting chosen:
- all of the above
- your choice of one deck to be released
- one puzzle deck suggestion

The deadline for all 4 divisions is September 25. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. If you have any intention of submitting anything for any of the divisions, please comment here to let me know. In case no one is submitting for one of the divisions, I'll have to give myself enough time to tackle them after all. ;)
