I'm reminded of an argument I once had about American politics, where the other guy - completely out of the blue - decided to tell me that obviously I was immature as I liked Bad Religion and no one over 18 liked Bad Religion.
Of course, I told him that was absolutely irrelevant, so get your ass back into the argument. But, man. That's just bad.
I know. It's not that often that I get into discussions, but when I do I expect the other person to at least make some sense.
Using someone's taste in music as an argument is just plain idiotic and says something about their IQ; it's not only annoying, it also demotivates you from carrying on the discussion because they're clearly not worth the bother.
1: i hate people who do that! if you don't know how to argue, don't. or if you're losing, back off. i can admit when i'm wrong and stop, its really not that hard.
2: i heard about those bombings this morning when i came in. My boss is from there and will now be m.i.a today making phone calls.
me personally, i am rather weirded out by this. The United States was bombed. okay, we're cocky, we meddle, it took us down a peg, and now we're in another "war". but what the hell did England do? no, this doesn't make sense. i have no recollection of them ever doing anything... (unless i wasn't paying attention) now those terrorists are just being mean. jeezey.
I know. People like that piss me off so much... When it happened to me I was so angry I didn't even reply because I was worried what would come of it. But yes, some people are too stupid to come up with valid arguments. We're smarter than them, I just keep thinking.
Hmm, well the G8 was being held in Gleneagles, most of the experts interviewed on the BBC news thinks it has something to do with that. It could also be because Blair is very close with Bush and supports him. It could be a combination of those things along with a heap of other stuff.
It could also be the French, in light of what happened yesterday, but they were probably too busy being French to concoct such an evil plan.
