Sorry

Sorry this comm hasn't been very active!
If you've seen any great twitchy eye letters to the editor, I'd love to see them. I've not really seen any here for a while but I'll look harder.
Perhaps we should include twitchy eye comments on online newspaper articles. :p

Perhaps we should include twitchy eye comments on online newspaper articles. :p

But if we did that, the comm would quickly explode with twitches :P

I'll keep a look out! I haven't been reading the paper, but I can start again :)

Yeah it might explode. :P You'd need particularly good, long ones I suppose.

And we can include letters that are online.
Thanks! I just don't want it to die.

I'm the sort of lazy person who goes "Man, I wish this comm was more active" without bothering to put anything on it myself!

As am I, and I co-moderate this place.

Or I'm supposed to. I don't feel like a very good or active mod. The local papers around my corner of the universe all do a surprisingly good job of filtering out the stupid from the editorial section. (Every now and then, though, they'll publish a real gem of complete and utter fail, probably simply because it was just too funny not to share, but those morsels are sadly few and far between.)

We need to get more members, then maybe there'd be more people to find these crazy gems. We don't often have really bad ones in our newspapers either. Lately I've been googling 'letters to the editor' (except for the last one about Fergie and Atheists) to be able to put something up, and I got them off other states newspapers. I thought I should do that because it might help us find new members. Any ideas on how to find members? :)

Not sure how we can attract new members. I've whored the community off to a few people without much luck. With enough members, this place could be an utterly hilarious goldmine of snark. Kind of wish we could get this comm featured, but it'd result in a heavy load of posts to approve. If that'd somehow magically happen, I could keep up with the increased mod load for a while since I'm free for a couple of weeks before I start teaching summer classes ( ... )
