Wicked: Idol Edition
Chikai, Yumi Joms, and I did a musical casting with the AI peeps. Yumi and I talked about it before but we'd always be stuck with Kris as Boq and Adam as Fiyero. But with the help of our friends, we finally put together an epic cast of Wicked: The Idol Edition.
Italics are mine, the rest are Yumi's.
The final cast:
Elphaba: Carly Smithson
Unanimous decision for the angst, the mad vocals, and the fierceness.
Carly looks like she could be a Bitchy!Elphaba, kind of like Kerry Ellis. :D
Glinda: Paris Benett
If they had a black Elphaba, then why not have a black Galinda too? This was a long debate. The list included: Carrie Underwood, Kellie Pickler and Allison Iraheta.
Yeah, I figured since there's a black Elphaba (though how can you tell under all the green makeup?), a black Galinda could work too. It could work!
Fiyero: Ace Young
We didn't put Adam Lambert here, because he has "other" stuff to do. Next hottie in tow, Ace Young!
Though Adam would have been the perfect Fiyero (oh wait, he IS!), he's done with Wicked. I wouldn't be surprised if Ace was actually cast as Fiyero. He totes fits the part. I can already imagine him in the costume, singing As Long As You're Mine.
Boq: Kris Allen/ David Archuleta (u/s)
OH SO ADORABLE LITTLE BB's.
Ever since I watched that Wicked bootleg with Adam, I immediately thought that Kris would be perfect as Boq because he has the same hair. And okay, he's short too! Archie would make a cute Boq too. Imagine Archie going "*gasp!* You're touching meeee! Oh gosh huh huh huh gawrshhhh".
Morrible: Jennifer Hudson
Another suggestion: Mandisa. ahaha Just for the body type.
Nessa: Allison Iraheta/ Brooke White
Angelic but could pull off a witchy character at the end.
Wizard: David Cook/Michael Johns
Jazz hands! The Mavid proved to be goofy at the Idol s07 tour last year with their dances.
DAVID IS PERFECT AS THE WIZARD OKAY. I can already imagine him doing jazzhands in Wonderful. I love Mavid. I almost forgot how schmexy they are. Sigh.
Dr. Dillamond: Jason Castro
Imagine him chewing on a piece of paper and going "Ba-aaa-a-aaa-aad" HAHAHAHA
BAAAAAA-HAHAHAHA!!! Chikai thought of this. Brilliant. The most perfect one!
Chistery: Danny Gokey
No comment. :| =))))))
Again, Chikai's idea. And no, we did not give Gokey the role of Chistery coz we don't like him. Being Chistery aint a pretty job, but someone's gotta do it!
Frexspar: Chris Daughtry (also Swing)
NYAHAHAHA. Just because he's bald? =))
Yes, because he's bald. And he's got the Frexspar vibe. :))
Fiyero's Driver: Michael Johns
I couldn't find a photo of the driver. Basta he's this amusing character who does a hand gesture with Fiyero when they arrive at Shiz.
I CAN NEVER GET HIS NAME RIGHT. Albert? Elfric? Whatever. Just check him out in this video: (and because we just love this video, don't we Yumi and Tia? :)) )
Of course, Joms, Tia, Yumi and I all have our own little roles. Joms is the dragon and the skirt guy in Dancing Through Life, Yumi and I are Glinda's minions and Tia is Melena in the first part, because she gets to do that dance with Cookie. Heeeheeeee.
