by Michael Jackson that I loved when I was a kid because it was part of the Free Willy soundtrack ... it plays at the end of the movie against all the pictures of Free Willy swimming bold and free in a sun-streaked ocean

You know the Elliott Smith song "Somebody That I Used to Know"? For some reason I have this thing where that song always has to be about someone in my life. And since there are always plenty of people that I either regret losing touch with, or am doubting my future relationship with, it just keeps being appropriate-esque, hence consistently making me sad, only the people I associate with it change. A bit weird, 'cos usually people tend to associate a person with a song, so in mathematical terms, the relationship of the two would just be a point on the plane. For that one song, however, it would be a straight horizontal line, where x changes, but y stays the same. Ah, I wonder when it's gonna end, but who the hell can see forever?
