I have officially sent in my registration form and $52 entry fee for the Tucson Tinfoilman Triathlon on October 15. This is an 825 yard swim, 12 mile bike, 3 mile run event. I'm not quite ready yet, but last night I went to the gym and biked 8 miles in 30 minutes and ran 2.66 miles in 30 minutes, so I moved by body 10.66 miles in one hour, a feat

I love certain physical activities also, but more along the lines of: the feeling I get where the tendons in my ankles burn from tangoing for 4 hours at night, or the way my left arm seems to be stuck in that upright dance position and my right shoulder aches after the dance.
Also, I wouldn't say California has the monoply on iconic places in the U.S. of A. Don't forget New York City, and even Arizona itself. There's a steakhouse in Buenos Aires taht I passed casually for the first time today called Tucson, and Jorge Luis Borges wrote about Billy the Kid in "A Universal History of Infamy."
