I've never seen ESotSM, but I've heard that it's quite good. I think it's only because I generally have a limited tolerance for Jim Carrey. I'm assuming you've seen it - was it good?
This trailer proves that no matter what visuals that music is set to, the Inception score is creepy as SHIT. (And honestly, it's a little spooky how well the audio track of the Inception trailer fits over the visuals of the other trailer. There were quite a few times where sound and visual synced up in a truly bizarre way.)
I really loved it, especially after I went and read director's notes on it, and it turned out that, like, the crazy extended view of the story I came away with was actually the intention of the directors after all? The visuals are really interesting and quite disturbing at times, as you can tell from the trailer, and yeah, I was in the same camp you are, the No Thanks Jim Carrey camp, but the movie totally worked for me, and he is about 75% less Jim Carrey than he is in any other movie.
IT IS SO CREEPY. The ticking beat of that main trailer theme, the BRRRRRRM BRRRRM and it just keeps building and building and building--
Hmm, perhaps I will check it out then. I do like mind-trip movies, it's just that his performance in The Number 23 was inflicted on me last week by a friend who got possessive with the tv remote, and it was truly a horrifying experience. I think I'm still suffering from cinematic PTSD or something.
Those horn sounds remind me of the noise that the machines in War of the Worlds made. Another terrible movie, but those horn blasts were seriously disturbing in the oddest way.
Oh god, why why why lfdj;afnek;j look I know I resolved to be less weird about writing this year, but this freaks me out kind of a lot because 1. your writingggg ♥ *____* and also 2. you know how your navigation of the characters and the world of the canon shifts quite a bit as you stay in a fandom, and that is a pretty old fic, so it's really not written the way that maybe I would write it now, so it is extra embarrassing that it still exists augh.
someone already kind of wrote an eternal sunshine au, which is why i'm just riffing it. anyway could one ever actually write text that is as scary as FACELESS FACES brb still freaking out
