And it's a special time in which there is a vanity pet to be gained...what does a body do? Why, one throws themself into PvP! I fretted all day at work Friday...what if the pet was only available the first day? What if it was super rare?
To all of you who got it on your first win...I hate you
a little.
It took me 8 wins to get it on my main...it took hubby 17 (!!) wins to get it on his main. But by golly, we both got it. Now normally I'm the one freaking out over things like this, but it was hubby who was getting *mad* at the game each time he'd win and the pet didn't show up, cause he A) thinks its one of the better looking pets (I concur) and B)just wanted to *get it* and get back to finishing his little rogue's climb to 70 and C) Winning as Alliance on my BG can be...difficult. (The rogue did hit 70 the next day.) We both spent our in game time mostly BGing, and I went ahead and spent my hoarded honor points to get the druid her Guardian Kodohide belt (Yay, it doesn't require gems OR enchants!). I played my hunter in enough BGs to get her the pet too, and hubby started BGing on the rogue, and had the pet there much faster than for poor Tarla. I think it took me a similar number of wins on the hunter (8ish) but he got it on the rogue after about 4 wins. Poor hubby though...17 wins...ug.
I was also engaged in a lot of arena team hopping with the druid and hunter. Did 10 games with our pally's new rogue alt...that went about as expected considering he just hit 70 about a week ago too. Hubby was going to make me play with his rogue too, but we ended up forming a FTL 3's to get our warlock some points. Shockingly, nicely PvP geared lock + 2 newbie rogues won a few of their matches. They let me put my hunter in for a few rounds just to get points, and we lost all those, but a couple were suprisingly close. I found an honest to goodness MS warrior, and we gave it a few rounds with Briara as 2s. I should probably be embarassed to admit this, we played 5 games...and lost them all. I know I made a few errors, and he did too. We had a couple of close games. Considering my set is still incomplete and he was only at 190 resilience AND was on a dial up connection, I shouldn't have been too shocked...but I know he's a good player (his main's a druid too) and I imagine as I get better macros and instincts on how to react as a PvP resto...and as he gets better gear and macros (and gets his real internetz back in a couple of weeks)...that this might have some potential!
In more positive news, we only ran two of our real threes team (ret pally, S-priest, me healy druid!) and won both of them. We plan on doing more of those tonight. Since I blew all my honor points over the weekend on the belt, I totally expect to get up to 1575 rating briefly (but end the week below it) and not have enough honor to buy my Guardian bracers. But hey, considering that my guild is dead and my schedule now likely won't support raiding anyway...it was still a fun weekend in the World..of Warcraft!
