Certain groups that say they're fine with Jews...but then schedule their events on Jewish Holidays...?  Not really encouraging for Jewish people to join. I understand the cluelessness factor, but if you go out of your way to say you're Jewish friendly, you might want to check a calendar when scheduling events.

In a way, I completely understand. Once again, the Church has managed to schedule Easter right on top of Carl's birthday. Don't they understand that I have something IMPORTANT to do that day? Sheesh!

It's REALLY easy to be clueless, however. I remember when I was working for a large American company here in Germany, the Germans used to get totally frustrated when the Americans scheduled meetings (which they always did) on the afternoon of Carneval (Mardi Gras). It wasn't an official holiday, but everyone always went home at lunchtime that day.

They used to try to schedule meetings on the full-day German holidays, too, but those were soundly rejected.

Up
