Wallpaper/Header Tutorial

Okay, a few people wanted a tutorial on my header/background with Kelly, so here you go.

1. I started with a white canvas and repositioned and resized the Kelly pictures until I got something I liked. I used layer masking to blend the pictures together.

2. I duplicate the layer and set it to soft light at 100%. I apply a guassian blur filter at somewhere between 1.0 and 2.0 (see what you like best).

3. I then apply brushes in white around the edges of the picture. I used brushes from inspired & hybrid-genesis. I apply them on a few different layers so I can move them around if I want to.

4. I then duplicate the original blend and pull it over the white brushes. I set it at screen at 100%.

5. I then use the eydropper to select one of the colors from the background and then apply more brushes in that color above the white brushes. Again, I apply them on new layers and vary the opacity.

6. I then apply this texture by hybrid-genesis and set it on soft light at 100%. The result is too harsh, so I apply a guassian blur filter to soften the look.

7. I then apply another texture by hybrid-genesis and set it on soft light at 100%.

8. I then apply some brushes that I want to go behind the text.

9. I then add text in LaDanse and Times New Roman.

10. I finally add one more texture by hybrid-genesis and set it on soft light at 100% to blend it all together. I apply a guassian blur filter again and I'm done.

For the header, to turn it purple I used a few more textures and the variations tool under adjustments.
