Diary of a Bad Year was maybe my favorite Coetzee yet, and I have to say I agree with basically your entire music list... have yet to hear 'Circle' though..

Glad I somehow stumbled onto your blog this morning thru Chalked...

The Coetzee was funny, too. James Wood has a long review of it in The New Yorker this issue.

yukon! I never actually got to see them, but I bought their CD. It was okay. I think they're a lot better now, but one or two of their No Gold songs still sound like Yukon (or maybe they're still playing those songs. Not sure).
