It was his third or fourth drink that night. He’d been slamming back the strongest drink the bar had. It had been days… no weeks… no months since he’d heard the killer’s voice. And it was starting to grate on him. That’s when he’d started drinking. Why bother keeping healthy when his very own killer had abandoned him? What did it matter? Everyone died in the end.
What are you doing?!
It was a growl in his head. A growl that made his head throb with pain. Or maybe that was the alcohol that was doing that. “You left me.” He slurs, he bartender looking at him as if he were crazy out of the corner of his eye.
I never left you, Gabriel.
“Did too.” Again the bartender eyed him like he had lost it. He hadn’t. Not really. Or maybe Sylar was just a figment of his imagination.
I am not a figment of your imagination!
Another growl and the watchmaker winced. Couldn’t Sylar keep it down? His head hurt. That’s when he felt it. The telekinetic touch that was helping him up out of his seat and towards the door. “Not going’ nowhere.” He slurs with a scowl, batting at the hands that weren’t physically there.
We’re going home.
He went to argue but the snarl within his mind and the firm telekinetic touch told him that if he did protest, he’d be in for it. And right now Sylar was not a very happy killer. “Still abandoned this silly boy.”
No, I didn’t.
“Did, you were gone for longs time.” It was muttered even as his eyes closed and invisible fingers brushed through his hair. In moments he was fast asleep.
I didn’t abandon you. I just went and got us help.
