For those not in "the know," Laodicea is the last of the churches John addresses in the letters to the seven churches that begin the book of Revelation. It's too bad my hero only quotes the Old Testament or I'd be using that "fervent heat" phrase in a sex scene quicker'n you can say "Christ and Him crucified"!
