Been there, sweetie... and you're right: it IS hard. Contact Medicare or insurance, whatever your parents are using, about bringing in help. Also ask folks you know about aids that have helped their friends or family. We were able to hire an amazing woman who had worked with many friends of the family, and even some distant family. She is like family now, and worked for several years VERY hands-on with my grandmother 'til she died. Sometimes these kinda folks work under-the-table, so insurance or Medicare can't help, but maybe for a few weeks, it would be worth it to pay the right person cash to help out. Maybe even a NOLA friend could help and make a little $$ by cooking them a meal or two daily, to help with the situation. I dunno exactly what you're dealing with, in a 24/7 kinda way, but these are thoughts I have had, as I've followed your posts surrounding your mom lately.

I hope you all are able to come up with solutions that work for most of you for the next several weeks, at least.

::hug::
