For those who have 'enrolled' for Waku-Waku Gakkō Online but don't understand Japanese:

*****
[1] 今こそ感謝を伝えよう (Now's the Time to Say Thanks)

NOTES
1. 日々是気付 (hibi kidzuki)
気付 = awareness (the verb 気付く = to notice/recognise/realise/perceive)
It means something like "to have awareness of each day" - not to miss the changing seasons, the mundane little day-to-day things, etc. I translated it as "every day is an awakening" because it's a riff on the Zen Buddhist teaching "every day is a good day" (日々是好日 / nichi nichi kore kou jitsu).

2. 凹んだ気持ちが口[平ら]になりました (hekonda kimochi ga taira ni narimashita)
凹む (hekomu) = (1)to be dented/collapse/cave in (2)to feel down/defeated
平ら (taira) = (1)flat/smooth/even (2)calm/stable (3)comfortable (as in お平らに "please make yourself comfortable")
It plays on the multiple meanings of 凹む and 平ら, plus the shapes. With poetic license, it could be (very loosely) translated as: "My broken/battered feelings were made whole again".

3. Cited research on the effects of gratitude by Ed Diener from the University of Illinois

*****
[2] ❝新型コロナウイルス❞を知ろう (Know the Novel Coronavirus)

NOTES
1. Yamanaka Shinya
↳ Won Nobel Prize in 2012 for work on induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC).
↳ Previously worked with Arashi for WWG 2016.

2. Kawaoka Yoshihiro
↳ Virologist specialising in influenza and Ebola viruses.
↳ In 2011, he announced that he created a new strain of human H5N1 virus.
(Caused controversy as it has no known vaccine and has pandemic potential.)

3. The 1918 flu pandemic ('Spanish flu')
↳ One of the deadliest pandemics in human history caused by a strain of H5N1 virus.
↳ Following current WHO conventions, this has been translated as '1918 flu' throughout the sub.

*****
[3] カラダを動かそう (Let's Exercise)

NOTES
1. Radio Calisthenics [#1] [#2]
↳ Exercises that are broadcast on NHK radio/TV channels every morning in Japan.

2. Minami Sasuga
↳ Dancer/choreographer who was in a couple of punk/rock bands, but the top English-language online search results are Minami hosting a children's TV show in a onesie with profanity emblazoned all over it...

3. Nakano James Shuichi
↳ Physical trainer, known for training the Aoyama Gakuin University long-distance relay team which has won the prestigious Hakone Ekiden relay-marathon 5 times in the last 6 years.

4. 'Loach-scooping' (dojō sukui)
↳ Comic folk dance which imitates catching loaches, a small freshwater fish, with a bamboo basket.

*****
[4] ❝待つ❞意味を考えよう (Think About What it Means to Wait)

NOTES
1. Research by Richard C. Larson of MIT
↳ Often the psychology of queuing is more important than the statistics of the wait itself

2. Study by Lee Berk from Loma Linda University
↳ Anticipation of a laugh reduces stress hormones
