Happy Meme: Day 5

The races were great fun, even though no one went home with more money than they came with. Here are our racing tips:

1. Always pick the grey horse. (Though this may only work for me--M lost $2 today on a grey horse.)

2. Don't pick the favourite. Every time either of us picked the favourite, it came in dead last.

LOL!!! Not much worse than my method. I always pick the horses who don't look bored or spooked by the crowd. :-) If there's more than one, I pick the one who looks the most arrogant. ;-) I figure he's going to work hard to not have anyone else in front of him. :-)

We were up in the restaurant at the track, where you can't actually see the horses up close--you have to watch them on the TV at your table--so it's hard to get much of a feel for them. But yeah, the look of the horse plays into it too. M usually bets on the ones that seem fidgety, and that seems to work for her. Not so much for me.

I did that once. He ended up in the infield because he was spooked by air. :-)

Hee! Your methods are much like ours. My pal Suzi also invariably picks the gray horse. I pick the prettiest one. Fortunately we don't wager actual money on them, because our record is less than stellar. *g*

We sometimes watch the races at home on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon--one of the local channels shows them--and pick our favourites. You'd think all this experience would help at the actual races, but sadly, it does not.
