So yeah. Hi, LJ! I've been doing the Facebook thing lately and thinking about dabbling in Twitter (I've signed up but haven't done a blessed thing yet). Enforced shortness speaks volumes about life and society, but it fits a little better with where I am right now

The other one I've read is The Evolving Self, where he goes on about how the media is twisting our perception of reality. He recommends getting groups together to analyze new stories and look for patterns of cause and effect which will never surface in our short-attention-span 24-hour news cycle.
That dovetails nicely into Al Gore's The Assault on Reason. If you can get past the recurring theme of "Bush is a bad man" (Which I don't contest, I just don't want to be hit in the face with it every 2 pages), there's some interesting stuff in there ( ... )

Best thing I've done recently is get back into music. two years ago I looked at my horn gathering dust in the corner and decided "damn it I'm going to play that again". I found myself a great community band and can't wait for practice every week. Similar experience getting back into playing tennis. So do it get back into theater, into writting, whatever.

You know, just the other day I was thinking "I really should put on a show at the Fringe...it would be nice to say I'd put on a show at a major international festival".

You could completely pull off the Fringe with a minimalist production of almost anything you've written for NV. And get positively reviewed, I bet.
I'd plan on going for the month and pushing your show by sheer force of will. There's a glut of good theatre and not enough audience to fill every venue.
