Here is an idea. Each of you make a set of coupons for "special" promises for times you have to be apart on special days. These can be anything that is something special that you enjoy sharing with each other. Send each other the coupons to be redeemed when you are no longer separated. It lets each other honor the days and times that are special to both of you and gives you each something to look forward to doing together when you are back in each others company.
