So over the course of history the MIT students have performed some pretty impressive pranks. Tanking apart and rebuilding an MIT Campus Police Car on the roof, turning the dome in R2-D2 are among my favorites. Umm cops at colleges have the same if not more power then city cops. MIT cops are all State Special Police Officers which means they have the same powers as a State Trooper which is more power then a Cambridge cop. So I'd becareful who you call a rent a cop cause that might potentially earn your ass a lil stick time.

So why are they working at MIT? Is MIT hiring them on as a security force? If I offended you with the term, tough. You are thicker skinned than that you gun toting nutjob. I was trying to take anything away from the MIT Campus Police Force, rented or not.

And is it me or should the guy that posts pics of flipper babies and has an O&A icon not be allowed to be offended by anything. Hypocrite.

Ouch. I'm not one to stick up for Scott at times, but I think he was just stating a fact.

Granted, they got caught by police in an area and time where students typically aren't - but I do think that MIT tacitly condones, and even encourages, activities like that. When you glorify those who succeed (hacks.mit.edu), you're going to encourage like activity.

Slap their wrists for trespassing, if needs be, but toss them out?

You can not prove to me that they were only up to a prank. While I am willing to believe that is all they were up to you can not just allow it because it is tradition. It will open the door for abuse in the future, I am sure there is quite a bit of valuable property in those buildings to steal, and if you get caught... oh it was just a prank.
