how am i supposed to update the school issued version of mcafee? when i got to the tlu.tlu.edu page and click update software it reads:

echo off
call "C:\Program Files\Network Associates\VirusScan\mcupdate.exe"
call "C:\Program Files\Network Associates\VirusScan\scan32.exe"
echo on

and thats it. is it messed up or am i missing something?

Honestly, I don't know. You might have to actually be on a computer on the TLU network to do it...but I'm really clueless. Try calling the IS department at 830-372-6000 if you really want to get it figured out - they'll be able to tell you what to do.

well it says that you have to update the software before you connect your computer to the TLU network, so i'm assuming you have to do it at home. i'll give them a call tomorrow though. thanks.

They've been changing up stuff right and left this summer because of problems that occurred last year, so no telling how you have to do stuff now. But yeah, just give 'em a call and Becky'll set you straight!

PS - If you have comp problems at the beginning of the year, take them cookies along with your computer when you go to have work done on it, and be really nice. Having the IS department as friends is a REALLY good thing....take my word on this one ;-)
