I think it's just because our generation is getting older. As time moves on more and more familiar faces will pass. This past week has been a little freakish though.

That's true. This week has been weird. I mean for those celebrities who are quite old and/or very sick (like Patrick Swayze) then it wouldn't be as much of a surprise, but MJ and now Billy Mays were unexpected.

Damn, I keep forgetting him too. It's kind of weird with all of these people passing that they all sort of fight for the spotlight. Appears Ed fell to the bottom on the popularity side in general. He's still very significant.
