Vegas

So I have a technical question for vidders. I'm trying something new with source/rendering to make it better quality, but I'm having aspect ratio type issues. I seriously can't understand it and it's driving me crazy. My clips are 720x480 avi files, which is the normal NTSC resolution, and I have my project settings and rendering settings set to ( Read more... )

Glad to hear you found a solution. Weird that you can't edit VOB or MPG though, those are the only formats that play well with what I've got now, Vegas Movie Studio 10 on Win7. AVIs are the ones that don't edit so well in mine. Computers/editing programs are so freaking weird. o_O

Whaaat? I'm jealous. VOB quality is amazing. Maybe I'll upgrade to a newer Vegas if I can, since mine is a bit dated now. Hopefully that would fix it.

VOBs are the only things that preview and run absolutely smoothly on mine. MPGs usually run well but preview on the timeline can get stuttery, and it's a lot worse with AVIs. Weird, huh? Maybe it's a Win7/64-bit thing.

When it comes to the newer versions, I trialed both Movie Studio 10 and Pro 10 and as far as I could see there wasn't much difference anyway when it comes to basic editing and effects. Although people tell me if I want to get into masking I'd be better off with Pro. But the point became moot since I couldn't find a a workable *cough*crack*cough* with Pro 10 anyway.

That is so weird, I always figured that even if VOBs worked, they would be much laggier than AVIs.

I'm going to try out 10, and I'll let you know if I find *coughgoodcrackcough.* ;-D
