In September I came home visited the Basque Country with my buddy J again, and we had an absolutely amazing time. We discovered new, exciting places, visited familiar but no less exciting places, enjoyed the sun and the Basque cuisine, had a blast spending time with our favourite Basque girls,
xurda87 and her sisters, and, last but not least, saw Athletic

Oh and btw Gorliz sounds like either Gohlis or Görlitz haha. XDDD
Somehow I was convinced that incident with Gabilondo happened forever ago (in my defense it feels like forever ago since I visited you). It's still funny even the second time around :D
And I really like looking at your pics! ^-^
You can't start something interesting and then say 'don't ask'. I wanna know about that milk! NOW!
WOAH! 2 things:
a) the twin towers of Frey were my first thought as well after you wrote 'twin towers'
b) I am proud to announce that me and my absolutely underdeveloped Spanish vocab knew what ayuntamiento is! HAH!
YAY for you and that you finally got around to posting!

And I always think of Görlitz when reading or hearing Gorliz! XD (But not the city but former Bayern player Andreas Görlitz. XD)
It all happened forever ago! *sniffle* But yes, the Gabilondo story still makes me grin like a loon. XD It'll never get old! XD
Glad you like the pics!
There are photos of the milk presentation at athletic_club! I can't believe you haven't seen them yet! Susaeta and Iturraspe are in them!! And we all agreed that it's somewhat ridiculous to have an "official milk" but we don't mind if it comes with pretty photos like those. ;)
Hahaha, so your Spanish lessons are paying off? XDD Ayuntamiento is one of the first words we learned. XD

Not a big fan of people trying to pretty much force their livestyle and opinions on others. meeh
I'll check out the milk now... XD

After I finished the 'viewing' of these photos I felt like I had been visiting heaven and just plonked back to earth! I can't say it enough...I love Bilbao so much! And seriously...when I was there I thought I saw everything, but of course, I didn't! There is SO much more!
Did you stay in the same hotel as before? It looks like it could have been the one I stayed at too! With the Plaza Neuva right behind it!
I, too, love the little streets in the Casco Viejo!♥
Is the Ribera market open yet? Have they finished the renovations? I hope so, because it's been about a year already since I was there! :)
Oh...and I love the artist who does all those sculptures that look rusty...it's so fitting for Bilbao because of all the rain they get! xurda87 will know...she told me his name when we were in the Museo de Bellas Artes, but I don't remember it...
So many places look awesome...the Alhondiga looks incredible!

We didn't stay at the same hotel as before because it turned out to be too expensive during the time we were there, so we picked the hotel Bilbao Jardines, which isn't at the border of the Casco Viejo (like the Tryp Arenal) but right INSIDE the Casco Viejo. :)
The Ribera market is open now!! The pic of the fish was taken inside the market! It's really huge and impressive inside, with all those stands! :)
I have no clue what the name of that sculptor is but I agree that the sculptures are great! :D
I wish I had taken more pics inside the Alhóndiga, especially of those columns!! :D

You can Google them both for images if you want to see what their sculptures look like ;)

Thank you!! I'm really glad you like the pics! :D I'm quite proud of how my camera handles colours, especially blue, green and red - my photos turn out a lot shinier than they did with my old camera! :D
The "BILBAO" sign at Loiu ROCKS. I love it so much. I was ridiculously excited when I first came to Bilbao and spotted it, and now every time I land at the airport I look for it! XD (And obviously it's a lot bigger than the one in Hollywood. It's IN BILBAO after all. XD)
LMAO @ the woman in front of the funicular, posing for the picture! XDDD I'm sure she realised we're famous people and therefore she wanted to be on our photos. XD
Thanks for the information about the fingertip and the twin towers!! :D
Next time, please, don't let me do that!! xDD
You mean, "next time don't make me do that"? XDDD I gladly take all the blame for it, it was so much fun! XD (And I guess the most embarrassed person was J... XD ( ... )
