1. The Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a
firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for
traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home.
ETA: That didn't take long. Alan Gura (the lawyer responsible for the DC case) has filed suit challenging Chicago's handgun ban, claiming that the 2nd amendment should be incorporated under the 14th amendment.
