A "movie bomb" question

When they're disarming bombs in movies, why don't they just pull the blasting cap(s) out of the explosive and separate them from the explosive (

Did you see "Lost" last night? That bomb went off, killed at least one character, and there was no red timer. Phooey on your bomb theory! lol...
I always just assumed that the bomb was so sensitive that if they did anything like that it'd just explode instantly.

Ummm.... Lost is a TV show, not a movie.
A TV show is not a movie (unless they make it a movie, in which case they almost always do it wrong).

I always just assumed that the bomb was so sensitive that if they did anything like that it'd just explode instantly.

A TV show is not a movie (unless they make it a movie, in which case they almost always do it wrong).
