Well, folks, I've got some really sad news to have to share.  As you know, I recently lost my job... see my posts around March 9 if you didn't know.  I've been trying really hard to find a job here in the North Alabama region because I just don't want to move.  In the 3ish years I've been here, I've gained a lot of good friends and pseudo-families ( Read more... )

Over the past couple of weeks, I've been trying to read Mere Christianity by C. S. Lewis.  It has been both tough and really interesting at the same time.  Lewis was certainly not afraid of thought, but he was also not of the sort to pursue it for its own sake... so his thinkings stick very close to reality and practicality.

I caught a rather interesting Newsweek article via Slashdot this morning.  It's about the social effects of technology ... not exactly an intensive study, but it makes some interesting points.  I'm guilty, too, though to a lesser extent than the average Blackberry addict.

Several days ago, Aimee made a statement about trust in her journal, which got me thinking about "trust".  Quoting from the post referenced:
