Poetry, right in the face

I haven't read any poetry since college. Color me a recovering English Major.

Then, recommend something for me to read!

Really? That's surprising, to me at least.

I could loan you some books, or if you're looking for your own, this month I recommend William Carlos Williams The Doctor Stories, available from the Madison library network

Depends on your mood and your tastes. I love Pablo Neruda and John Donne, although rarely at the same time :D

This is the story of my today's lunch break: la la la reading my favorite newspapers, get exasperated with Reefe, start clicking around for interesting not-exasperating content on facebook, discover Casey's livejournal, proceed to stalk Casey onto livejournal.

Good times.

Also, did you really asking for poetry recomendations without giving a hint to your taste? :) If you're stilling looking for recomendations, The Last Believer in Words (ed. Richard Jones) is one of my favorite anthologies, with City Lights (ed. Ferlinghetti) running not to far behind (although it has dropped in the ranks somewhat since the end of my shameful chain-smoking-cloved days), and both contain broad enough ranges that you're likely to find both things that you like and things that you don't like. They're both kind of, um, slightly aged. But they contain things that make me happy.

Or, you know, Auden. 'Cause, you know, Auden.
