The animal that had been in my chimney chase was apparently still there after they fixed the opening in the siding, after all. And has now apparently died, if the smell is any indication. I'm not 100% sure that's what it is and it's not a real strong smell (yet), but odds are good. I have no good way of getting in there to check, really

Did it flood near your house? While noting that I have no idea what I'm talkig about, I'd also mention that in helping people with flood clean-up I've been noticing that generel disgusting flood debris can smell a great deal like decomposing animal.

Also, what exactly about this world makes you think that god isn't into gallows humor? Srsly.
