my question issea_of_rosesOctober 31 2006, 23:30:59 UTC
what constitutes a guy's sink? and is a girl's vanity the same as a gay man's? these are the questions that really matter! lol. good luck with your project!

... but I think I have to side with the in-breds on this one. It is true that not ALL people who would like to have a nice house are straight, but probably most of them are just because there are more straight people. So designing a room which specifically targets the largest market group does make a little sense from a business perspective. Ok, so maybe that wasn't the actual reasoning of the little artards in question and they were really suffering from extremely narrow thinking, but my point is still valid. O FUNDE NOSTER.

Well, I'm guessing you're doing the Colonial Project, and if I remember correctly that does involve a family in the program, and the family is heterosexual. So instead of a guy's sink, or a woman's sink, it's Mr. Whoever's sink, and Mrs. Whoever's sink. I forget what they're names were.. something like the Anderson's or something like that?
well, of course, the way that that sentence is constructed and worded, i really don't think that these are the most intelligent class mates.
as for the straight thing, it's just a simple matter of bureacracy and ease. they have been designing house like that, especially as training, for years. also, i don't think they want to raise a fuss by having to do a homosexual household. i think it would be a good idea, but i am just a stupid linguistics major.
Isn't a vanity just a sink with a mirror w/ lights on it? I don't know these things because I'm a language major (and often don't pay attn), so absolutely yay linguistics majors! I agree with the sad reality that the vast majority of homeowners are heterosexuals. I claim no responsibility for that. I'm not saying it's necessarily correct or balanced.... I think the girls next to you were designing an inferior bathroom. Isn't every bathroom already a sink or a vanity?
