New legality question

How legal are biometric timeclocks in OH? They've put in hand-geometry timekeeping machines that are a badge swipe plus a hand scan. Do I have to use this, or can I fight the use of this new timeclock?

I don't know, but you wouldn't think they need 2 factor authentication for a timeclock. Seems the hand scan alone would be sufficient if they wanted to do that.

In my opinion the badge system is good enough, and it's just another sign of distrust of a few coming across as distrust of everyone.

Maybe the badge system is still in place while they test the trustworthiness of the hand-scanning mechanism? Frustrating though.

There's a ~6wk overlap whenever they get the ports up for the new timeclocks. After the parallel they switch over.

do you work in an area with some sooper seekrit research? It seems like the biometrics clock is a waste of valuable funds, and a badge system would be cheaper.

nope, just government. It's a two form badge swipe and hand geometry.

Forgot to specify, the new county wide timekeeping system doesn't work with our existing clocks.
