If someone who was my supervisor one change ago is now my supervisor again, does that make him #5 in 5 years, or does the count stay at 4 since we already worked for him.

I say 5 - I think we count Grover Cleveland as both our 20th and 22nd presidents (not certain of those specific numbers), and I think we count both of those presidencies in counting how many presidents we have had. But either way works.
