This weekend we will bury my last remaining grandparent. I never knew my dad's parents, I was a baby when they died. I grew up in Northern Michigan, while my mom's parents lived in Maryland. Hell, my mom and dad's whole families lived in Maryland. Since then we've branched out a lot more and are living in 4 or 5 states I think. I wish I would ( Read more... )

. . . I was fortunate enough to know all four of my grandparents, although I would've liked to know Valentine Antonio Schneck a little better. He was born along the edge of the Austro-Hungarian empire where all the borders were re-aligned after WWI. He moved his family to Cleveland from Wageningen, Netherlands in 1930 - he died when I was about 7.

If you can keep up/maintain/expand the geneology - go for it!

I think Beth will be around, and it sounds like we will be gone Thursday thru Sunday. I'll let you know if I think she needs checked on. Thanks for the offer.
