So. Cali Weekend Getaway

Will be taking off tomorrow for San Diego for a few days.. looking forward to it, haven't been there in years! My friend Danielle will drive down from L.A. and join me as well. Will be staying with Sarah, who's the daughter of an agent here.. she was nice enough to let us stay at her condo with her. One of our agenda's is to go to the Comic Con,

You're going to ComiCon NOT in costume?! Is this because it's semi-tenuously related to business? Or do you just want to travel light?

Keep an eye out for Hygena (known as melodymuse around LJ land and arguably the most famous person who has been a guest on talk_show to date). She'll be at booth AA15 on Friday from 11-3, AA16 on Saturday from 11-3, so tell her I say hi if you get the chance!

Anyway, I look forward to your photos! Remember the charger, and have a Cateriffic time!

I know.. I know.. shocking I'm actually passing up an opp huh?! But yes.. *sigh*, one reason was we're taking public trans (parking there is a nightmare) and after going out downtown. Running around in costume may fly in SF but probably not so much there, lol. And I did want to do carry-on as well. Kinda wanted to check this out from an 'observers' point of view too for the first time around and plan on being there awhile (my boots wouldn't be good for that!) There's a WonderCon that's early in the year here in SF, so maybe i'll get my chance then. Although still tempting to consider saying screw it and stuffing a costume in my bag anyway, lol. Give the cab driver a thrill.. ;P

For sure though i'll seek Hygena out and say hi! Would be fun to ask her about doing the superhero show too and getting to meet Stan Lee. :)

Made sure to charge up my camera and got that charger in my suitcase! ;)

Keep in mind, EVERYONE is going to be running around in costume there that weekend. I think you'll probably stand out more for not being in one, haha! ;o)

Heh.. this is true. :P Well i'm sure i'll kick myself later, but yes I don't doubt i'll be still lovin it! Too bad I didn't have more sensible Catwoman or Barbarella shoes, lol.

Well, don't get too jealous cuz I won't see them either! I found out they'll be there Sunday from 11a-12p, but guess where i'll be?? At the airport waiting for my flight to go home!! How wrong is that??! :( :( :( If I had known this before I would've gladly paid more for a later flight. I was sooo close, dang.

Ah well.. I would've probably just seen them on the big screens only anyway. Although being in the same room would be very nice. ;) Oh and missed Hugh too.. now that *really* was a bummer!

Where do they have gencon? I've heard of dragoncon but that's too far for me. There is WonderCon that's here in SF in February.. can't believe I never payed attention to that! ComicCon is by far the biggest though.. sooo many people, just crazy... but crazy good. :P

gencon is in indianapolis...it's pretty damn big too, but i don't know how it compares to comic con...i'd guess similar in size.
