[RL with Zechs] [Backdated to Shadow Event]

Jan 24, 2010 10:20

After taking leave of the others who'd come to help Zechs, Tyki took his husband back to their apartment, which wasn't far from the dungeon Zechs' shadow had created. He'd have taken them to their island, or their house in Switzerland, but frankly he didn't want to brave the dangers of the TV world when they were both so exhausted ( Read more... )

With just a little roughness, feeling possessive in his anger, Zechs drew fingers up into Tyki's scalp, lips pursed. He almost felt a bit of guilt for this situation, and yet he knew what he felt. Still quiet, he said, "Believe me when I say I shall never make you chose; you have me regardless. I merely believe you would be a happier man, ultimately, without the obligations of your Noah - no matter how impossible that wish will be ( ... )

Tyki sighed and leaned back, dragging Zechs against him. Now that the secret was out and the argument seemed to be passing without dire consequences, he just felt tired.

He felt like more arguments were just pending, more worries, as Zechs sat at home helpless to protect him, and afraid that he was in danger. In a way, he regretted telling him. At least then, he could go and know that it wasn't paining his husband to know he was there.

"You won't lose me," he said softly. "Please don't think of it any more."

Zechs couldn't read his thoughts, but he said, "I can't help but think upon it, and yet ... I also trust your strength, Tyki. I will attempt not to ... brood upon it, for your sake. I am, however, glad you have told me." He scowled. "Far better to hear about it from you, than from an Exorcist who hunts you, or from a random transmission from the forum."

Shifting now so he leaned over Tyki, flush against him, he drew the curls out of his lover's face. Zechs tried to read the expression within the Noah's eyes. Quietly, he added, "With your obligations there, and your concern for us here - I wish for you to be happy, my love. Not only your life is in danger. I want to ensure I do brighten your life, if there is truly nothing else I can do to assist you."

Perhaps it was accepting the weaker shadow which made him admit this. "You should know, if there is ever a time you need to merely forget the difficulties we face, I am here. I enjoy such a vacation from reality as well. I would do anything to make you happy, dear heart."

Tyki looked up as Zechs tucked his hair back, and found that a smile came easily. He cupped Zechs' cheeks and pressed a kiss to his lips, soft and tender.

"Trust my strength," he said gently. "If it makes you feel any better, I haven't done anything more dangerous than help my niece with her homework in all these months."

He kissed him again. "And I am happy. I am more happy with you than I've been in my life. You bring me all the happiness I could ever deserve."

Such is not all your Earl will ask of you, is what Zechs might have said, yet did not. He didn't think Tyki was a fool. And the more he heard about the war upon the Noah's world, the more he began to fervently dislike both sides, wondering who indeed was actually looking out for humanity. But he quickly would attempt to dispel such thoughts. He had so little information to work with, after all. And, even still, he was powerless to assist.

Zechs knew they'd argue more in the future. There were also other, less dire issues surrounding his own shadow and what they might mean. But he didn't want to deal with any of that now, even if he wasn't one to avoid problems. He was bone-tired from the conflict within himself, and he knew his Shadow hadn't been gentle in the fight against Tyki and the others. He kissed Tyki back tenderly, but with a good deal of emotion ( ... )
