I've had bad experience with claims (you know, the ones that hang around for years going stale) so I'm saying no. First posted, first served. So if someone else posts the one you've been working on for weeks and were just putting the finishing touches to, you'd better have a back-up plan.

Please note, this is my very, very transparent way of trying to get people to write fast...

P.S Since the two entires to the competition were so good, what do you say to starting with them? I don't think they could be topped, honestly :)
