Tyler's Room, Wednesday Afternoon
It was early for vampires to be awake -- the mid-afternoon sun still crept around the edges of the blinds. Stomach still gorged from last night's kill, Tyler lay on his grungy sheets. A paperback book was open on the bed next to him, but he wasn't reading. He was waiting for Veronica.

After making sure Belthazor was otherwise occupied, Veronica silently slipped into Tyler's room. "He's busy," she said by way of greeting. She was smart enough to know that if Bel found out she and Tyler hooked up once in a while, he wouldn't be pleased.

"You like lying." Tyler observed. Not that he minded; things were hotter that way. He sat up enough to try to pull her toward the bed. "Hi. Miss me?"
He was not nearly as cute as he thought he was.

"Of course I did," she said, allowing him to pull her close. It was almost true. She did enjoy spending time with him. But she wasn't the type to get maudlin about missing someone. She leaned in and nipped his bottom lip. "How have you been keeping busy?"

"Um ... " it was hard to talk when their mouths were pressed this close, but Tyler let himself enjoy the kiss for a full moment before pulling back to talk. "Nothing much since we came in from hunting last night. Watched some documentary about penguins on Animal Planet. What were you up to?"

"Nothing exciting," Veronica said. "Hoping Bel would go out so I could come and find you."
She ran her hands over his t-shirt and then slid her hands under the cotton to touch his cool skin.

"And did he?" Tyler asked, shifting to pull her over on the bed. "Got big demon plans to take care of?"

"Mmmm, don't know, don't care," Veronica said, stretching out on her back. "He's too possessive."
Something she had been saying for years. Not that she wasn't just as possessive.

"Like you don't go nuts when you catch him with someone else," Tyler said, and pulled his shirt over his head. "I think that's half the reason you're with me. Revenge."

Veronica couldn't deny that so she leaned forward and scraped her teeth lightly over his nipple. "Never heard you complain," she said. "And I know damn well you've been in his bed more than once."

She held her arms up so he could pull off her tank top. It was pink; something she had retained from her human days. "That too. Plus you're mine. I won't hurt any of my own. Just those stupid little tramps who think they can take my demon away."
Someone missed the lesson on sharing in kindergarten, okay.
