By now, Algren certainly knew better than to hold back simply because he was up against a student. And, after his time spent in Japan, he was fairly confident that he could get through his match without resorting to hair pulling.
He was smiling slightly as he stepped onto the mat with only the faintest catch in his step.

Bruce stepped onto the mat. Considering Algren taught a class on Japanese culture and was in Fight Club, Bruce felt like he might at least have an idea of what to expect.
"Are you ready?" Bruce asked, giving a respectful bow.

Algren returned the bow, just as deeply and respectfully, and when he straightened, he gave the boy a smile.
"If I'm not ready, then I have no business being here, do I?"
He slid one foot backwards, putting himself into a ready stance. The bow was at least a slight indication of what he might see from Bruce, but all things considered, he had a suspicion that he was going to find himself on the defensive for a while regardless.

Jennifer was a little surprised at who she had to fight. But she knew she was in a new weight class, so to speak, so she put on her best serious face and stretched out a bit.

Tyler looked apologetic as he made his way over to her and started stretching. "Don't look scared," he said. "I don't try to hurt students. Not the first time out, anyhow."

This should prove to be educational, and Ghani was looking forward to the bruises.

C) If you did sign up and need to opt out for 1/17, sign up here. We may cancel anyhow, if the blizzard makes FC impractical or impossible.
D) I know this is in the wrong com, but it's 1 a.m. I can't move it. Sorry.
