When Tyler woke up, his mouth was dry and his head was fuzzy. But, then, it had been a really weird week.
Early Tuesday morning, he had woken up to a disoriented Alec who
wanted to know if any of this was real. He was not able to be much help. He had gone to find
breakfast in the common room; later, he'd gone for
cookies and promised English he wouldn't scare Willow again.
He hoped he could keep that promise.
The strangeness had increased on Wednesday, when he went for a
walk on the beach and ended up bumping into something ... not quite alive. Or human. Even if it was sort of cute.
Research on Thursday showed it to be a baby mummy, and they
made plans to fight them.
Which wrecked what had actually been a pretty nice day. He had eaten breakfast and
talked to Jamie, Nadia and Pippi in the common room and had the highlight of his week,
sex ed. He wondered whether Becky had noticed him.
He knew he was being dumb about that, though. Probably she had some really hot, really tough monochrome boyfriend.
Anyhow. He played
dada dodgeball -- though what sports had to do with art movements, he did not know -- and stopped by the
book fair before
basketball practice.
Saturday had started almost normal, or at least as normal as a
detention involving an Elvis costume and getting handcuffs off of Pippi could be. Of course, he hadn't exactly been himself when he left and went to the gathering in
Rory's room. And he still wasn't himself when he
fought mummies and
scarabs and scorpions, or when he
talked to Alec after the fight.
But he'd been back to what passed for normal when he
went to the gym during cheerleading practice.
He thought. But there were
several conversations he couldn't quite remember.
Tyler wondered who or what had taken over his body this time as he prepared to leave the room for the day.
