everything is grand. i really feel at my prime. and i'm even a year older. i love januarys. ok here we go,
*travels to dublin and edinburgh: there is nothing better than getting together with two of your best girlfriends to share more memories and get to know one another better. we walked all over both cities, took tours of castles, historic monuments, cemetaries, cobblestone streets and shopped in some really cool stores (found GREAT january sales!).
every night we went out some place new, and danced, met irish, and scottish friends that we're still in touch with and planing future visits with! the friendliest people! the last night we found this really cool indie club in scotland and the music was so good, we stayed there till 3 then went back to our new friend Gavin's house and watched high fidelity and stayed up all night to catch our flight back at 9am.
the three of us girls really had such a good time together, and it was so nice because i can't remember the last time that i had spent so much time with just GIRLS. all of us really appreciated our companies, and i'm so happy to have such good friends that i'll keep for ever. and now the three of us having places to stay all over the world when we want to travel (leon-france, munich-germany, and california!)!!!!
*campus/start of spring term: classes have begun again, and i feel like i'm still on holiday mode, so after this week i'm going to really try and stay in more and study harder. last night was indie night on level 2, and a really fun refresher for the life of the campus scene. over the break it was so dead. so it's cool to have people out. tonight my friend's band Charakka are playing in london, so a bunch of us hired a bus, and we're all going to see the show tonight. i did this once before with these guys, and it was really fun, so i'm excited. it should be really good. thursday is the indie night called milkshake at route's, ALSO totally awesome. sam's djing, and everyone will be out. THEN!!! friday is the once a month indie night at the art centre, it's called, Gigantic, so everyone will be there too, and the dancing this week will NOT STOP. saturday i'm meeting Lindsey in London, i haven't seen her in months so it will be nice to play catch-up and give her photos that have been sitting in my room for like a year! haha, yay!
*my plans: so right now, because i'm finishing up my 4-year, and want to stay here NEXT year, there's a lot of work i need to do in order to secure the validity of my visa. i either need to find a job that i am suitible for- more so than a brit to ensure my stay, enroll in more courses- persue posibly philosophy or art as a degree... or apply to grad schools and get signed up for 2nd term next year... AND/OR argue that being a British Literature major it is absolutely vital that i stay in order to access the CAmbridge Library Archives, to aid in my research... it shouldn't be too difficult, but it has to happen... and i should get on it.
*work: applying for jobs, there's a library opening downtown, so wish me luck! it's a saturday job, so that would be PERFECT for me!!! YAY! i really hope i get it!
*next year housing: two of my flatmates and one of their indiesoc friends and i are looking at a 5 bedroom house in wivenhoe! i guess it's a really cool place, and so i'm stoked that i'm in on the move-in plan. i really need a place to live, and i think i'd get along with tom, mel and any friend of tom's is a friend of mine. so STOKED!
*art: i feel really inspired, and active lately. it's great. visual arts. and music. it's really a good time for me and i'm really trying to flex all my creative instincts cuz i feel so much right now, and it's been so easy to express myself. in team with these creative peaks, i've also found that i've been able to express myself really clearly to others lately too, and i just feel so straight-forward with everything in my life, and i think that's the best. totally simplified, in all it's simplistic beauty.
now i need to read the tempest.
xo cheers my dears. i send my love coast to coast. xo
