The LJ-formatting is just bad netiquette, and doesn't really fall into the mac vs. pc argument IMO. There's plenty of pages out there that never touched a mac during coding that look fine in IE and like garbage in any other browser because of the non-standard code IE accepts and certain wysiwig html editors (coughfrontpagecough) will spit out ( ... )

actually, most of my LJ icons should show up better in Firefox than in IE, due to IE's poor handling of transparent PNG images. as for the LJ formatting...i'm pretty sure my formatting shouldn't turn up incorrectly. i'm not using a white text-on-black theme. why don't you use LJ's ability to force friend posts to show up in YOUR theme? under http://www.livejournal.com/manage/settings/ you can check "View all journals and communities in your own style" and "View comment pages in your own journal style". voilà, no more annoying ugly friend themes ( ... )
