.. that while I agree with you in spirit... basing an argument off of a source like wikipedia--and claiming that because this source says it is simple--therefore it must be simple--is kinda weak

My opinion doesn't come from from Wikipedia. That was just a concise way to state my opinion. The point I was making is that 'the economy' is nothing more than a continual trade of goods and services. A 'bad economy' is nothing more than the interruption of that trade.
I'm all for it if people want to go back and figure out the exact causes of our current problems and punish those responsible. ...but fix the problem first.
You and I haven't been quite as affected as some others. Go talk to someone who has had their job outsourced, car repossessed, home auctioned off, filed for bankruptcy or otherwise had their credit trashed.
Better still, go talk to an eight year old and explain to them why mommy and daddy can't buy them a $2 toy.
People stop purchasing goods and services because they lack money. People lack money because their goods and services are not being purchased.
I don't think it's that hard to explain to an eight year old why they can't have that $2 toy. Hell.. I've been doing that for years with my own step-kids

All of the academic complexities are bullshit.

We can't get off on 12 different issue at once though.
First, what exactly is your definition of the economy?
