SciFi's "Legend of Earthsea"
been watching scifi's "legend of earthsea."
this blows. i mean blows goats. there's very little to do with the actual storyline, the story is changed, the people are changed, the plot is gone...
this pisses me WAY the fuck off. they could have done a very nice job with this as a miniseries, rather than assrapeing ursula leguin's beautiful work. instead, they made mockery of some of the most wonderful literature that i remember my parents reading to me when i was young.
this is the problem with novel to film adaptation. and i don't give them leeway for having ot shorten the story merely for length purposes. they did a 4-hour miniseries, which, after commercial breaks, boils down to 3 hours for 150 pages of novel. wait, scratch that, they were too busy bastardising Wizard of Earthsea and Tombs of Atuan by trying to intermingle the storylines. so 300 pages.
they should have just stuck to wizard and stayed faithful to the storyline, which was VERY adaptble to film. but no... they were too busy hiring big name white stars to fuck the whole thing up with their bad acting.
i mean, seriously, this adaptation is SHIT. steaming lumps of the foulest smelling shit i've ever had to witness. if you enjoyed the original books, just enjoy the wonderful writing, and leave this piece of trash to the unwashed illiterate masses...
