"Ludicrously Unrealistic Fantasy"...!?

To give credit where credit is due, I totally ganked this from zonereyrieNow, I don't usually post YouTube videos on my journal (in fact, this is my first time doing it) but I had to share the videos I saw on Megazone's LJ. I have to say, when I watched the video, I thought to myself, "Hell, a good number of the people who read my journal definitely qualify ( Read more... )

I dunno, what do nerds like us do when we meet? We exchange code phrases (movie and book quotes), show off our geek gear, or talk about how excited we are that Doctor Who, Torchwood, and Sarah Jane Adventures are all going strong in the US.

It was more about a 6-minute homage to all the things she loves -- and I *was* convinced that she owned the stuff she showed. Her quotes were authentic and wide-ranging. Either she's got a good writer, or it's hers. The books had been read (judging by the condition).

Wait, Sarah Jane Adventures has come to the US?

Why doesn't anyone tell me these things?!

*off to find out where and when it shows*

I know FAR more girls, and women, like this than any other kind.
(The second kind, not the first.) Even if they don't admit to it.

Mind you, I have parents that I took to see X-men in theatres. You've met my mom--dad's just about as bad. :)

Thoughts: The second vid would benefit from a bit of a trim, but overall? Great stuff.

My comments on the first video are pretty similar to the comments made by the second video, plus the fact that it should be 'geek girl' instead of 'nerd girl' if they wanted to be more accurate, and the sci-fi/Star Wars chick has a laughable costume that has nothing to do with Star Wars at all. At least the elf girl sort of looks like she might be a cheap ripoff of LotR.

My thoughts on the second one were initially that the chick had an awful lot of Star Wars stuff and for some reason thought that a pile of old Star Wars novels and a pirate shirt made her nerdy. Then she started to pull out all the other stuff and I found myself wishing that she'd break out the Star Trek stuff and/or flash her phone number on screen. *fans self*

I dunno, I thought the first one was pretty funny. "I failed my saving throw! Now I'm helpless!"
