300- Homoerotic?

I'd like to challenge the notion that any media containing fabulously attractive, muscle-bound men must be homoerotic in nature.  To suggest that it must be is to deny that women, as well as men, can be sexual consumers, with their own tastes and desires ( Read more... )

I'll let you know tomorrow. At least ten anthropologists/archaeologists are going on masse to see it and if we can't pick it apart no one else can.

Personally I think it is because of the lack of knowledge on the part of modern writers and they tend to fall back on cliches though I have to say that the Persians seem to be quite handily filling the role of the exotic 'other' at least in the previews.

Anyway you have given me something to mull over.

So I'm curious to know what you thought about 300. I'd like to compare notes with a fellow history buff. I thought I sensed a bit of a play to the traditional Greek concept of physical beauty reflecting inner goodness and strength of character, but maybe I'm giving the author too much credit?

In other news, how about that spinning-drama? A little crazy, no?
