I'm out of ideas.
I need a lot more drawings for this class, but I can't come up with things to draw. I need more ideas on the lines of vaguely surreal pieces like that one with the heart strung up on street lights - people really seemed to like that one.

Well... you seem to be drawing representations of dark... so maybe think about the kinds of darkness that consume people? The telephone lines made me think of long distance relationships, like talking on the phone with someone and the loneliness is creeping in on you.

Relationships made me think of children being afraid of the dark and stuff, which is a little close minded but I think it's interesting when they grow up to be adults and realize that there are things in the dark to be afraid of.

I think of things like the masks that people wear, how beautiful flowers can be poisonous, addictions in people that they don't recognize. (like being addicted to manipulative people or addicted to solitude)

I'm not much of an artist but maybe that sparked some ideas? Or it did nothing at all lol But I know you'll come up with something brilliant. :]

So far, the idea of darkness seeping out of common objects is ingenious, if you ask me.

If I were you, I'd continue focusing myself on that type of a theme.

Might I suggest this darkness to ooze out of a...electrical outlet in your next sketch? That might speak to a lot of people.

One thing that stood out about the streetlight heart piece was that is was a combo of very organic and very mechanical images that anyone would recognize.
You could do lists of objects in each category and see what you can come up with for combinations.
