I was gonna start the Magic Mountain this week too but I just finished Don Quixote and don't know if I can commit myself to something that long right now.

I'm having trouble committing too. Did you enjoy Don Quixote?

I really did. It's basically the two best fictional characters ever created and there are so many awesome side remarks and stuff. I dunno I wouldn't be able to explain exactly what I liked about it but I'm perfectly glad that I finally got around to reading it.

Oh, and also, did you consider which translation of the Magic Mountain you would have read? The two that I know of differ around 200 pages (not entirely due to typography)!
