tonight would be better, I have to work until close, so I will still be caffienated, etc at midnight. If you want to come by early, I can make a pot of coffee or yerba mate or something?
how do you take pictures of things without people caring? I always get freaked out that I'm disturbing people if I pull out a camera on the eL when it's all pretty.
I find that having your camera out, ready-to-go, or in a very accessible area of your personal space (i.e. pocket) allows you to be able to take pictures around people more discretely. At least it feels that way. Especially with a digital camera-- you can just pretend you're messing around with it, looking at stored pictures, or figuring it out.
I dunno though. I think I go through picture-taking spells, where I have this impulse to record the spaces around me for posterity... and so all throughout that day or hour, I do have the camera ready to go. Like "Ok, I'm documenting some aspects about the drive to school today."
But re: #2-- I really love the earlier self portrait of your grandmother. It possesses this warm intelligence! And what a fun contrast between that and the later self portrait! Very charming lady, it seems like, and a good painter. (^_^) Art rulz.
